  Staff changes at JWeb2.
Posted by: JWeb2 - 04-09-2010 07:06 PM - No Replies

Hello everyone. Since the beginning I have been the primary go-to person for JWeb2 performing all of the administration functions of the website and server and dealing with all of the support, marketing, and billing tasks involved. Unfortunately due to some personal issues that recently prevailed I am unable to continue performing such tasks. I have decided to hand over all current operations to my good friend and partner Jeremy who has been working behind the scenes for quite some time and has been our primary developer from the beginning.

I will still remain to assist him and offer support for both the website and hardware when needed but as of now the reins have been handed over and he will be the primary person involved in JWeb2's development and growth. He will be in complete control of all aspects of JWeb2, including the direction it heads. After working with him long enough and being friends with him for even longer I am extremely confident that JWeb2 will continue to grow and even expand beyond my expectations because his programming knowledge is well beyond that of my own so his creative limitations also exceed my own allowing for him to set his sights on ideas that were not even considerable by myself.

The only change that I definitely know of is that the blog that I had started recently will be moving to another domain so that I can ensure that my views are not confused or interpreted as those of JWeb2. Other than that I cannot say for sure right now but I am certain that any changes made will be for the benefit of you the client.

You are free to contact me directly via e-mail or on the forums but keep in mind that anything directly relating to JWeb2 will be of my opinion only and it is best to contact Jeremy directly for an accurate response. I do not plan on leaving and will attempt to continue being involved in a much more limit capacity and maybe in the future when my personal situation changes I will return in a more administrative capacity.

Thank you all again for your support through the rollercoaster that is JWeb2.

Minor issue with main JWeb2 VM.
Posted by: JWeb2 - 03-27-2010 09:15 AM - No Replies

The main VM became unresponsive at 8:40AM EST. I logged onto the server and forced the VM to reboot which fixed the problem and the VM returned to normal at 8:50AM EST. On a side note, I took advantage of this unexpected downtime and doubled the RAM on the VM from 1GB to 2GB. Although there was no RAM shortage, this will keep the RAM usage below 50% when the nightly backups run.

  CXR Has Been Sold!
Posted by: JWeb2 - 03-18-2010 02:24 PM - No Replies

Today it is with both cheer and sadness that we announce that CXR is no longer being operated by JWeb2. As of this morning CXR has been sold to a private party who can continue to focus on building the site and providing a great service to those that deserve it.

The migration has already begun and it should take a bit for the new nameservers to kick in, but we're sure the current clients will be happy with this change and will enjoy the qualities the new owner has to offer.

We are sad to part with CXR but are happy to see the clients are now in the hands of somebody who can provide more than we could. Our biggest regret was not keeping CXR as a separate site and letting it grow on it's own instead of merging and competing with our other services. This also proved to be a painful blow financially as once the change was made we fell low into the red making CXR both harder to manage and our other services at risk.

At this time we would like to thank all of the CXR clients who stuck with us through all of the migrations and changes and I hope that your future hosting experiences are as great as you have grown to expect of the CXR name.
